SSC Stenographer Recruitment Group C, D New Exam Date 2020 

The online submission of Application Form for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D was conducted from 20th September 2019 to 18th October 2019.

The exam will be conducted in two stages.

Stage 1 will be an online examination consisting of objective type multiple-choice questions.

As per the latest notification SSC Stenographer Group C, D 2020 Paper-1 will now be conducted from 16 November 2020 to 18 November 2020.

Stage 2 will be a Skill Test. We will notify the exam date for Skill Test as soon as SSC releases the official notification.

Candidates Passed Class 12th (Intermediate) Exam from Recognized Board. Stenographer Group C Transcription : English : 40 Min. and Hindi : 55 Min. Stenographer Group D Transcription : English : 50 Min. and Hindi : 65 Min.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2020

The SSC Stenographer 2020 examination will be conducted in 2 different levels. The first level is Grade C and D exam that comprises of MCQs and is conducted online. After this exam has been conducted, an exam to test your skill sets in various domains is conducted by SSC.

Important Points: Question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice. Questions will be set in Hindi and English except for Part-III. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the question. Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examinations, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit.
 
b) Skill Test in Stenography: Candidates who obtain the qualifying marks in the Examination as may be prescribed by the Commission will be called for the Skill Test. Commission may also prescribe qualifying marks in each part of the Examination. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates. The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/ Hindi at the speed of 100 word per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer.

Q1.  Is SSC Stenographer Group C & D  exam conducted every year?

A.  Yes, SSC conducts SSC Stenographer exam every year.

Q2. When the admit card is released?

A. SSC Stenographer admit card is released two weeks before the exam. The admit card will be available online on the official website. Candidates can download SSC Stenographer admit card by logging with the required credentials.

Q3. What is the exam pattern of SSC Stenographer?

A. The computer-based test as per SSC Stenographer exam pattern comprises three sections – General English and Intelligence, General Awareness and English Language and Comprehension. The test paper comprises 200 objective type questions which candidates need to complete within 2 hours. The test carries a total 200 marks.

Q4. Are there any negative marks in the exam?

A. Yes, there are negative marks in the exam. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.

Q5.  I belong to PwD category, will I get extra time to complete the exam?
A. Yes, candidates with any kind of disability will be given an extra 40 minutes to complete the exam.

Q6. I have low vision in my right eye, can I apply for Grade D post?
A. Yes, you can apply for both the posts, i.e., Grade C and Grade D posts even if you have low vision. However, you need to state proof of it in the prescribed format.
